New Courses: Enhancing Music Production Skills

The School of Life and Design (SLDP) is expanding its music production offerings with the introduction of two new courses.

The Tank is a large, soundproof room that can accommodate up to 20 people. It’s equipped with a variety of recording equipment, including microphones, mixers, and speakers. The King’s Peak room is a large, open space that can accommodate up to 50 people.

    Founding Principles

The School for the Love of Drawing and Painting (SLDP) was founded 12 years ago with a clear vision to nurture the creative potential of young artists. The school’s mission is to build the next generation of successful artists, and it has been working diligently to achieve this goal. At the heart of SLDP’s approach is the concept of balance, which is reflected in its flexible time commitment.

  • A balanced approach to learning is essential for young artists to develop their skills and confidence.
  • By allowing students to manage their time effectively, SLDP enables them to pursue their passions while also meeting academic requirements.
  • This balance also helps students to avoid burnout and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
    Flexible Time Commitment
  • SLDP’s flexible time commitment is designed to accommodate the diverse needs of its students.

This demonstrates the school’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a supportive environment for students to grow and develop their skills. The school’s curriculum is designed to provide a well-rounded education, with a focus on music production, audio engineering, and music business. The curriculum is divided into three main areas: music production, audio engineering, and music business. This allows students to explore their interests and develop their skills in a specific area, while also gaining a broad understanding of the music industry. โ€ข Music production involves learning the basics of music theory, such as chord progressions and melody writing, as well as the use of digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Ableton Live and Logic Pro X. โ€ข Audio engineering involves learning the technical aspects of recording and mixing, including the use of microphones, preamps, and outboard gear. โ€ข Music business involves learning about the business side of the music industry, including marketing, promotion, and distribution.

    Collaborations and Guest Lectures

Past teachers at SLDP have had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned artists and producers in the music industry. One notable example is Gaszia, who has worked with A-list producers like Flosstradamus and Skrillex.
