New Courses: Enhancing Music Production Skills

The School of Life and Design (SLDP) is expanding its music production offerings with the introduction of two new courses.

The Tank is a large, soundproof room that can accommodate up to 20 people. It’s equipped with a variety of recording equipment, including microphones, mixers, and speakers. The King’s Peak room is a large, open space that can accommodate up to 50 people.

The curriculum is divided into three main areas: music production, audio engineering, and music business. This allows students to explore their interests and develop their skills in a specific area, while also gaining a broad understanding of the music industry. • Music production involves learning the basics of music theory, such as chord progressions and melody writing, as well as the use of digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Ableton Live and Logic Pro X. • Audio engineering involves learning the technical aspects of recording and mixing, including the use of microphones, preamps, and outboard gear. • Music business involves learning about the business side of the music industry, including marketing, promotion, and distribution.
