What’s Your Kind of Music? a blog around musical preferences and how you may be able to find your musical niche.

The Internet age has brought a dizzying amount of information, communication, and entertainment at our fingertips. It’s hard to believe that just 20 years ago, we didn’t have access to email accounts or social media platforms. It’s almost impossible to imagine what life was like before the Internet!

One of the many ways that the Internet has changed our lives (for the better) is through music. Nowadays, we can listen to our favourite songs at any time — whether we’re on the go or listening from home. But even with all of this freedom, it’s difficult to know what kind of music you like if you haven’t been exposed to different genres in your lifetime. After all, music is subjective and it isn’t always easy to express ourselves and tell others what we like.

How can I find my niche?

You may be wondering: how do I find my musical niche? Well, there are many ways to do so — but it all comes down to knowing yourself inside-and-out and having the confidence to express what you

The blog has its own section around “dark electronic music”. This genre is not something that you hear on commercial radio but underneath there is a true art form that tends to get overlooked by the masses. The website provides a unique perspective into the darker side of electronic music with detailed articles about the producers and artists who have helped create this amazing genre.

I have been noticing a tendency for people to pick a genre of music and stick with it. Most of the time, they like it because they can relate with the artist or because it is in trend.

I am not saying that this is wrong or bad, but when you are listening to one genre of music, you are missing out on other music genres that might be something you will love.

I have decided to do a blog around musical preferences and how you may be able to find your musical niche. This will be a series of blogs that I will be writing about different genres and some artists who have made them big.

I have decided to start with dark electronic music since this is my favorite genre. But first, let’s start by explaining what dark electronic music is.

It was the early 90’s, I was 13 years old and I was in my bedroom playing Doom on my brand new PC.

I couldn’t get enough of the game, it was so fun and really challenging. Then one day I got this crazy idea that I would play the game while listening to music.

Looking around my room I found a cassette tape of The Wall by Pink Floyd and loaded it up into my cassette player. After hitting the play button on the cassette player and then on Doom I was treated to what is probably one of the best gaming experiences of my life.

Pink Floyd + Doom = Yes!

Music is often thought as a way to express one’s feelings and thoughts. It is a creative way of communication. As humans, we are constantly in need of expression and connection. The combination of these two come together in the form of music.

The most popular genres of music at the moment are: pop, hip-hop, alternative and rock. These types of music have been the main foundation for decades and their popularity is still increasing today. However, there are many other forms of music that aren’t as famous but have great potential in helping people express themselves. I believe that Electronic Music is a genre that has not yet hit mainstream media but should be more popular among teens and young adults.

Electronic Music, also known as EDM or electronica, is mainly made with electronic instruments such as synthesizers, drum machines and sequencers. Some producers add vocals to their songs while other choose to only use instruments to produce sounds. This type of music started in the 80’s and has grown into several subgenres such as electro house, tech house, dubstep and trip-hop. Each subgenre uses different techniques to make beats and melodies which creates a unique sound for each style of electronic music.

I believe that Electronic Music

If you’re into dark and brooding music, then you’ll love dark electronic music. It’s a genre of electronic music that is a little more serious, with more of a focus on technological sounds and an almost industrial feel.

The style was first developed in the late 1970s, so it has been around for quite some time. The genre is incredibly diverse and continues to evolve, but it has always been characterised by its darker themes and heavy use of synthesizers to create stark soundscapes.

It’s often quite difficult to differentiate between different types of electronic music as it is easy to cross boundaries between genres. Dark electronic music has its roots in industrial and synth-pop, but it’s also closely related to EBM (electronic body music), synthwave, darkwave and other gothic-inspired subgenres of electronic music.
