I am a huge fan of electronic music and decided to start this blog to share my passion for it with the world. I am going to go through different types of electronic music in the coming weeks and months, giving you descriptions and examples. This is a big task, so please forgive me if I don’t get around to all the genres. I will, however, do my best to post new articles as often as possible.

I’ll start with a confession: I have no idea what the difference is between ambient and downtempo. They are both quite mellow, but they have some small difference that I can’t quite place my finger on. Please help me understand the difference between these two styles of music.

What are the different types of Electronic Music? There are many different genres of electronic music that are popular. It is all about what you like and what makes you move.

House Music: House music is the most popular type of electronic music today. The house music genre was born in Chicago, Illinois. House music has many different types such as electro house, deep house, future house and more. House music has it’s roots in disco music as well as garage music.

Techno Music: Techno music is another very popular type of electronic dance music. Techno has many sub genres such as tech house, minimal techno, acid techno and more. The techno style came from Detroit Michigan and was pioneered by artists such as Jeff Mills and Derrick May.

Dubstep: Dubstep is a genre that is popular with the younger crowd and has been around since the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Dubstep grew in popularity after Skrillex made some big hits using this style which became popular with young people around the world including myself when I was younger!

Trance Music: Trance is a very popular genre for many people who enjoy electronic dance music. Trance music has a very epic feel to it which can be uplifting or melodic at times depending on which

Electronic music is one of the most popular types of music in the world these days. It is a type of music which is made using electronic musical instruments and sounds. The first types of electronic music were used in the 1960s and 1970s, but electronic music has come a long way since then.

Today there are several different kinds of electronic music, with new kinds developing all the time. Some of the most common types of electronic music are:

Ambient – Ambient electronic music is often described as “atmospheric”, using sound samples to create an atmosphere. It often features no beat at all, making it perfect for listening to while relaxing or sleeping.

Dance – Dance electronic music incorporates strong beats and rhythms, making it ideal for dancing to or just to listen to at parties or other social events.

Drum and bass – Drum and bass is another form of dance music that has proved popular in recent years. It uses fast beats, frequently around 160-180 beats per minute (bpm).

Electronic music is music that uses electronic musical instruments and electronic music technology in its production.

Electronic Music has been around for quite some time now and it seems like the term is starting to gain more of a mainstream appeal. However, the problem that many people face when it comes to Electronic music is that there are so many different genres and sub-genres that it can become overwhelming. How many times have you heard someone say “I like Electronic Music” but when you ask them what type they listen to they just stare at you?

Don’t get me wrong I am happy that the genre is finally getting more attention but this means that if you are new to Electronic Music you will be faced with a lot of terms and genres that you may or may not understand. So how do you go about learning about Electronic Music?

For starters, I would recommend reading this article which will give you an overall idea of what type of Electronic Music there is out there. If after reading this article you still don’t know what type of Electronic Music is for you, then I suggest listening to some of your favorite artists’ songs and determining which ones have elements from different genres in them.

There are many different subgenres of electronic music. The following is a sample of some popular genres of electronic music:

1. House – house music is generally very dance oriented and has a fast tempo, often around 120 BPM. It originated in Chicago, USA in the mid to late 1980s.

2. Dubstep – Dubstep features heavily distorted bass lines with lots of reverberation and syncopated rhythms. It became popular in the 2000s around London, UK.

3. Drum & Bass – drum and bass also known as jungle is characterized by fast breakbeats and heavy basslines, usually around 160 BPM. It developed out of rave scenes in the UK during the early 1990s.
