This album is also one of my favorites from the decade because it’s so different from most other albums at the time. Instead of being a loud and brash album like many others from this era, “Licensed To Ill” has some softer songs mixed in with heavier ones.

It’s an eclectic mix that makes for an interesting listen, especially if you weren’t around when it came out. A lot of people have said they enjoy listening to it as much today as they did back then because it reminds them how different music sounded in those days!

The Faint – This Omaha-based band is known for its use of synthesizers and drum machines, creating an eclectic mix of electro-dance music and guitar-driven post-punk. The group broke up in 2004 but returned in 2008 to release a new album and tour.

The Postal Service – This electronica supergroup is fronted by Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard, while production is handled by Jimmy Tamborello, who has also worked with Rilo Kiley and Bright Eyes. The Postal Service only released one album (Give Up) in 2003, which sold more than 1 million copies and won a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Album. The group reunited this year to play live shows and make new music.
