Mining by Moonlight: A blog about the latest music by electronic music artist

My name is John Doe. I am an electronic music artist residing in beautiful Austin, Texas. My passion for music started at a young age, and my love of computers was just as strong. When I discovered programs like Fruity Loops and Ableton Live at the ripe age of 14, I knew I had found my calling.

Since then, I have gone on to release multiple albums and EPs under the name “John Doe.” Today, my music has been played on stations across the country, from KCRW to Sirius XM.

Mining by Moonlight is the blog of electronic music artist, featuring his latest music.

“Mining by Moonlight, is an electronic music collaboration with DJ and producer, Michael McEwan, better known as ‘DJ Music Mike’. The song is available on SoundCloud for download at:

The song was inspired by the concept of ‘miners’ who extract precious minerals from the ground in a dark and dangerous environment. This song was my humble attempt to convey the same concept visually through animation.”

I was feeling pretty low. I was still looking for my first job out of college. The future didn’t seem bright and the present seemed even worse. I had moved back in with my parents after spending a year abroad. Not only was I living in my parents’ basement, but I wasn’t sure if it would be temporary or permanent.

I spent most of my time applying to jobs, playing video games and watching sitcoms with my parents. And then one day, while surfing the web, I came across something that changed everything.

It was the blog by electronic music artist Mining by Moonlight.

I am a professional electronic music artist. I specialize in producing dark, minimal techno and house music. I also work as an audio engineer and a sound designer. You can check out my samples of work at

I started to work with Ableton Live in 2008 when I was still studying in university. Although the curriculum did not cover music production software, the knowledge I had gained from studying classical piano and musical composition enabled me to produce electronic music fairly quickly. After graduation, I have worked as a sound engineer for several years until I decided to become an independent producer in 2013.

I have been producing full-time since then and also traveled around Europe doing gigs at Berlin, London, Paris and Amsterdam. Currently living between Berlin and Taipei, Taiwan, where I get inspiration from the vibrant culture of both cities to create new tunes on my laptop.

I am always on the lookout for new projects so please feel free to contact me if you are looking for a music producer or an audio engineer for your next project!

Hello, this is the first post on my blog about electronic music I plan to produce. Although I am new to this area of music, I have been interested in it for a long time and would like to get started.

I will keep you up-to-date with what I am working on and hopefully provide you with some interesting insights into the world of electronic music production.
