Electronic Dance Music is a genre that is always evolving. Are you keeping up?

Electronic Dance Music, or EDM for short, is a genre that is always evolving. Some people might say that this is because it has only been around for a few decades. While it is true that some of the most well-known tracks in this genre came about in the early 2000s, many of their “ancestors” date back to the late ’70s. The genre takes its roots from disco and techno music.

With the birth of the digital age, new technologies were able to shape the future of music. With new ways of producing sounds with synthetic instruments and software, songs could be made by anyone at home on a computer. This was an important turning point in music which allowed more artists to emerge at a rapid rate.

The wide variety of subgenres that fall into this category makes it quite difficult to identify what exactly EDM is. If you were to ask someone who knows very little about music to describe Electronic Dance Music, they would probably give you a vague answer like: “the kind of music that plays at raves”. While this may be true for some “dance” tracks, there are many different types of electronic songs that are not intended to be played in clubs or used as background music for dancing.

In case you have been living under a rock, or just not paying attention, Electronic Dance Music has experienced an explosion of growth in the United States over the past few years. What started off as a niche genre mostly known by people in small clubs and dance music scenes across the country has now become a full-blown cultural phenomenon.

Here are some facts that show how big EDM has become:

-In 2011 only 2 of the top 20 highest-grossing music tours were EDM artists. In 2012, 8 of the top 20 were EDM artists.

-In 2011 only 1 of the top 10 highest grossing music festivals was an EDM festival. In 2012, 7 of them were.

-In 2011 there were no EDM artists in the top 20 highest paid musicians. In 2012 there were 4.

If these numbers aren’t impressive enough, how about this: 40% of all electronic music sales in America are now coming from acts that didn’t exist two years ago! This is a huge sign of growth for a genre that many thought had run its course after its peak in the late 1990’s with The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim.

For the last couple of years, it has seemed like the world of EDM is getting the same amount of exposure as many other genres of music. After all, with artists like Kaskade, Skrillex and Deadmaus headlining over 40 shows a year, and other DJs like Avicii and Steve Aoki performing at festivals like Coachella, EDM has been thrust into the spotlight. However, while this genre is gaining popularity in the mainstream music industry, it continues to struggle with attracting new fans to its shows.

There are many people who have never heard of this type of music. They do not know what it is or why they should listen to it. They are not familiar with any artists or any songs that play in this genre. As a result, they do not pay attention to what happens at EDM shows. For example, they may not know that a DJ’s performance involves more than just playing a song on his laptop or using pre-recorded tracks from CDs or records.

In addition to being unaware of the music itself, many people do not even realize that there is an entire scene surrounding electronic dance music that exists outside of their normal lives. This scene includes everything from underground raves in warehouses or abandoned buildings where DJs perform

Here is a list of the top electronic music artists.
