There are many blogs and articles out there that will tell you what Electronic Dance Music (EDM) is. They may describe it as music that features heavy synthesizers, loud beats, and a generally fast tempo, but I feel like they fall short in adequately describing the genre. To me, EDM is more than that. It is a lifestyle and a culture all of its own. The people who make up this culture are passionate about the music they listen to and the artists they follow.
As an avid listener of EDM and someone who has attended countless festivals over the years, I believe I am qualified to give you an insider’s look into this world. In this blog article, I will attempt to educate you on what EDM is, how people experience it, and why you should give it a chance!

Christian EDM (electronic dance music) is a new genre of music that has recently gained popularity. The genre contains a lot of different styles and sounds, but the most common are dubstep and trap. The genre can be described as having a heavy bass sound with inspirational lyrics.
The history of Christian EDM is not very clear about when it first started. Some people believe that the first song in the genre is Scream by Jesus Culture (featuring Martin Smith) from their album “Awakening: Live from Chicago” which was released on August 31st 2010. Others claim that it was before this date as there have been many songs with similar sounds before this time. Some other notable tracks are “Feel Invincible” by Skillet and “Wonderful Life” by Black Veil Brides which both came out in 2016.
Christian EDM is not a very big genre right now, but there are many artists who are starting to make this type of music including LZ7, KJ-52, NF, Manafest and Capital Kings.

I know that there are many people who do not like EDM, but they don’t understand how great the songs can be. This blog is a guide for the non-believers of EDM to show them what it is and why it is great.

As a self-proclaimed and proud atheist, I have to say that I’m a little butt-hurt about EDM.
It feels like the genre that I love so much is getting taken over by these pesky religionists.
I mean, I’m okay with them liking my music and all, but do they have to shove their agendas down my throat?
EDM, short for Electronic Dance Music, has been around for decades now, but only recently has it begun to be dominated by Christians.
This really makes me so mad.
Anyways, with that rant out of the way, I’ll give you a brief history of EDM as it evolved from the first synthesizers and drum machines in the 1970s.
