R&S Records

R&S Records is an independent Belgian record label founded by Renaat Vandepapeliere in 1984. The label is responsible for launching the careers of many notable artists including Aphex Twin, Derrick May, Steve Bug and Jeff Mills. Over the years R&S has released albums from artists like Autechre, Tessela, James Blake, Legowelt and many more. I’ve always had a soft spot for Hospital Records, ever since I came into contact with it through the legendary London Elektricity and High Contrast back in 2008. I instantly fell in love with their sound and later discovered that they were all signed to Hospital Records.

This independent label from Berlin is home to many of my favorite artists like Len Faki, Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Helena Hauff, and more. Founded in 1999 by Tresor and Ostgut’s Dimitri Hegemann, this label has grown into one of the biggest techno labels out there.
