The Glenn Korff School of Music Moves into its New Home

The Glenn Korff School of Music at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is set to open its brand new, state-of-the-art facility, and the public is invited to tour the building during an open house on August 22. The event will take place from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the new Westbrook Music Building, located at 10th and ‘Q’ streets. The new building is a significant upgrade from the previous facility, which opened in 1967 at 11th and R streets. The Westbrook Music Building offers over 103,000 square feet of space, providing ample daylight and more access to social spaces for students, faculty, and staff. The building is designed to inspire creativity, collaboration, and connection, and it features a range of cutting-edge amenities.

The new building is designed to provide a range of opportunities for collaboration and connection. The immersive performance space and recording studio will allow students, faculty, and staff to work together on projects, and the music library will provide access to a wide range of musical resources.

Phase two of construction is currently underway, and the project is expected to be completed in spring 2026. Landscaping will be installed to connect the new music building to the arts quadrangle, and the entire project will be completed in spring 2026.

“I am truly excited to welcome back our community and alumni to experience our new space — a place designed to inspire creativity, collaboration and connection,” said Olschofka.

The new building is a testament to the university’s commitment to providing students with the best possible education and training in the arts. The Glenn Korff School of Music is a vital part of the university’s fine and performing arts program, and it will provide a range of opportunities for students to learn and grow.

As the university looks to the future, the new building will play an important role in shaping the direction of the music program.
