Top 10 Dark Electronic Music Producers

Dark electronic music is on the rise in popularity and so is the number of producers producing it. Here is a list of 10 top dark electronic music stations to listen to for real dark, brooding music.

There are many types of dark electronic music. Some subgenres include Dark Ambient, Dark Wave, and Dark Trance/DnB. There are also other subgenres but these are the top three types of dark electronic music and what most people think of when they hear the term “Dark Electronic.”

Dark electronic music can be traced back to the early 90’s with bands like Skinny Puppy, Portion Control, Controlled Bleeding and Download. These bands were all pioneers of their respective genres and helped set the foundation for what dark electronic music is today.

In my experience, dark electronic music can be hard to find. When I listen to Pandora or Spotify, it is rare that I find something that truly touches me. After searching for years and asking friends, I have compiled a list of the top 10 dark electronic music artists (in no particular order) along with their best songs.

The following is a list of popular dark electronic music artists. Most of these are not your typical techno, trance, or house artists. Instead, they generally have a more brooding and dark sound. Many of them have lyrics that deal with darker subject matter as well. If you’re looking to get into this type of music, this list is a great place to start.
