The Electronic Music Radio website is part of the Electronic Music Radio Project, a citizen science project with the goal of making use of spare computing power to help further research into radio signals from space.
Electronic Music Radio is a distributed computing project, similar to SETI@Home or Einstein@Home. Like these projects, we use your computer’s CPU and/or graphics card (GPU) whenever it is not in use – so you can continue using your computer normally without noticing any difference.
Electronic Music Radio uses your computer’s CPU and/or GPU to process data from the LOFAR telescope that would take months or years to process using conventional supercomputers. This data is then used for scientific research.
Electronic Music Radio is an Internet radio station. It plays electronic music from the 60s to today.
Electronic Music Radio has a lot of listeners and we are growing fast.

Electronic Music Radio, online since 1999 and broadcasting since 2006, is a non-profit internet radio station which broadcasts an eclectic mix of underground electronic music. We are a fully licensed radio station, licensed with PPL and PRS, and we have been broadcasting 24 hours a day for the last six years.
The site is run by volunteers who are passionate about independent music and internet radio. We have no commercial backing, and all costs are met by the volunteer staff running the website. All DJs donate their time for free to create shows for you to listen to on our website.
